The Freedom Soul Mixtape

IT WAS A TRUE HONOR TO BE INVITED TO CURATE THIS MIX FOR THE LAND, FOOD, AND FREEDOM JOURNAL. After speaking with Tabia and learning more about the organization’s mission, the direction of the music became clear almost immediately. This project felt less like an assignment and more like a calling.At the core of my work as a DJ, producer, and creative is a simple purpose: to spread love through music and to uplift my community through movement, joy, and connection. This mix is rooted in those values. Each song was chosen to reflect stewardship of the land, the importance of collective care, and the power of coming together through sound and spirit.Creating this was both humbling and deeply fulfilling. My hope is that these songs meet you where you are, remind you of what we share, and inspire each of us to be a positive force in our communities. May this music encourage reflection, joy, and action—toward sovereignty of land, access to nourishing food for all, and true freedom for every person on this planet.
